The immediate past Commissioner for Rural and Community Development in Kano State Hon Abbas Sani Abbas has dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya movement.
Hon. Abbas was among the commissioners dropped by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf last month.
Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has welcomed the former commissioner to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday.
Jibrin said “During a visit to me at my residence in Kano, he [Abbas] announced today his exit from the NNPP to the APC.
“Joined by the Chairman of our party in Kano State, Prince Abdullahi Abbas (Ɗan Sarki, Jikan Sarki), and other party leaders, we proudly embraced Hon. Abbas, a dedicated grassroots mobiliser to our party.
“I assured him of our unwavering support as we work together to build a better future for the people of Kano State and, indeed, all Nigerians.
“Together, we will continue to promote the values of good governance, inclusivity and service to humanity.”
