The Adamawa State Government is preparing to launch palliative measures to mitigate the effect of subsidy removal on citizens throughout the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri made the announcement on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, during a courtesy call with a delegation from Demsa Local Government Area’s Mbula, Bwaza, and Bille communities at the Government House in Yola.
Governor Fintiri urged local government council chairmen and other public officers to ensure a fair and prudent distribution of the palliatives once they are ready. He emphasized the need of treating everyone fairly, equally and ensuring that the assistance reaches those who need it the most.
The Governor expressed concern about the State’s high poverty rate and committed to work towards considerably reducing poverty over the following four years.
