A grassroots politician Mahmud Babaliya Ahmad, popularly known as Aftaka, has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to get the right candidate who will be sellable, formidable and has the capacity to assure good governance and promote democracy in 2023 elections.
Aftaka stated this in Bauchi over the weekend when he interacted with reporters.
He said credible aspirants should be chosen based on the wise decision to promote equity, fairness, justice and must be selfless and visionary, focus to emerge.
“What the electorate are yearning for is good governance, Nigerians are saying let us have a credible person that will unify the country, they want candidates that can secure and bring developments to them.
“What Nigerians want now is a change from poverty, insecurity, a change from ethnic jingoism and change from division to unity. So this should be the major concern of political parties across the country, including the PDP.”
Aftaka, who is aspiring to contest for the seat of Misau-Dambam Federal constituency in Bauchi State, said he has written to the Bauchi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders informing them of his intention.
