Dr Nasir Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged winner and governor elect of Kebbi State.
The returning officer of Kebbi state supplementary governorship polls Professor Yusuf Saidu disclosed this to newsmen.
He said Idris polled 409225 to defeat his opponent from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) retired General Aminu Bande who polled 360944.
Declaring Idris the winner of the keenly contested poll, the Returning Officer said: “I, Professor Yusuf Saidu, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the 2023 Kebbi State Governorship Election held on the 15th day of April, 2023.
“That Idris Nasiru of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby the winner and is returned elected.”
Dateline Nigeria reports that Idris (Kauran Gwandu) was the National President of Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) before his emergence as the governorship candidate of the APC in Kebbi State.
