Troops of the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Alamala, Ogun State, have intercepted over 365 pieces of pawpaw-wrapped cannabis sativa at Olodo, along Abeokuta-Imeko road, in the Abeokuta North local government area of the state.

The Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu, who handed over the cannabis weighing about 176 kg to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abeokuta, noted that the suspect Fatai Bankole was arrested by troops during routine patrol on January 6, 2024.

Represented by the garrison commander, Colonel Legborsi Deedum Nule, Aminu assured that the Brigade will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to rid the state of crime.

He also reaffirmed the Brigade’s dedication to ensuring that soldiers maintain a high standard of professionalism while discharging their duty.

Responding, the Commandant NDLEA Ogun State Command, Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili, commended the Brigade’s efforts and called for more collaboration between the military and other security agencies in the state.
