Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has re-iterated his administration’s determination to invest in education, youths and tourism.
The governor stated this when he visited the Fifth Chukker to see the Mararaban Jos Primary school established in conjunction with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Funds (UNICEF), creating opportunity for free education to over 12,000 pupils in Mararaban Jos and its adjoining communities.
Hon. Umar Bago explained that the visit was to see the level of development in the state in terms of infrastructure, education, sports and tourism with a view to understudying the policy and consequently implementing it in the stste .
“We have come to see certain strides they have achieved, the kind of things they are doing differently and see the kind of school they have built here for the community.
“We saw the infrastructure, they are very beautiful and are different from what we have. We intend going forward, we will invest in schools like this in our bid to build a better future for the citizens of Niger state.
“Secondly I intend to engage the youth gainfully in sports. I have come to look at this to see how we can increase tourism to attract foreign investments into Niger state”, he explained.
The Governor also used the opportunity to watch the Charity Shield Polo tournament organized by Access Bank and UNICEF.
