Barau sponsors 70 Kano students to study AI, robotics, others abroad

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has offered scholarship to 70 Kano State indigenes to study Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Robotics Science in reputable institutions of higher learning abroad.

Beneficiaries of the postgraduate foreign scholarship initiative include 65 males and five females from the three senatorial districts of Kano State. Barau said none of the beneficiaries is personally known to him or related to the organising committee members

Sharing the news on his Facebook page, Barau said “Today in Kano, I had the distinct honour of flagging off the first distribution of admission letters to the beneficiaries of my foundation’s Postgraduate Scholarship Programme.

“A total of 70 exceptional students, both young men and women, were selected across the three senatorial districts of Kano based on their academic excellence, having achieved first-class or second-class upper degrees.

“These beneficiaries will embark on postgraduate studies in critical and cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Forensic Sciences in renowned universities abroad.

“This initiative reflects our firm commitment to empowering young Nigerians with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a rapidly evolving global economy and to contribute meaningfully to the development of our nation.”

He congratulated the students for their hard work and dedication and encouraged them to take full advantage of this opportunity.

“My foundation remains steadfast in its mission to support educational advancement and capacity building for the future leaders of Kano and Nigeria,” he added.
