Senator Shehu Buba Umar (APC, Bauchi South) has pledged to construct a brand new 2.5 kilometer road within four weeks.
He assured that he will be open and transparent regarding the execution of his 2024 constituency projects
Senator Shehu Buba said this when he flagged off construction of the standard nylon road project in Zaranda village of Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Addressing a mammoth crowd during the flag-off ceremony in Zaranda, the senator said the project was a fulfilment of his campaign promise
He said he has worked hard to secure viable infrastructural projects and human capital development opportunities in the 2024 budget for the benefit of his constituents.
“It is significant to note that projects in the Appropriation Act undergo rigorous due process, including their award to eligible contractors who have bid for them.
“It is also significant to understand that no government project funding at any level that will be released to him and he woll not collect a kobo from the contractor, rather he will supervise them to ensure that they execute a standard quality project that will stand for a long time.
“We are committed to maintaining transparency and accountability. We will continue to provide regular updates to our constituents.”
He pledged to continue executing people-oriented projects that would touch the lives of the people in his constituency.
The lawmaker disclosed that the road project was part of his constituency projects in 2024 which had been approved for execution.
He assured the benefiting community that the road would be delivered for usage within one month.
“As a candidate, trying to represent you as your senator in 2023, I pledged to relentlessly pursue meaningful and life changing projects, provide for your common good and your sustained welfare,” he said.
Senator Buba explained that the road project was an attestation of his vows on the floor of the Assembly to provide quality representation.
“Apart from the road I intend to build schools and hospitals,” he said, promising to extend the government interventions to the seven local government areas of Bauchi South –Alkaleri, Bauchi, Bogoro, Dass, Kirfi, Tafawa Balewa and Toro.
