A journalist with the BBC Hausa Service, Bilkisu Babangida, has passed on at the age of 56.
The media organisation said the journalist died Tuesday morning after a protracted illness in Abuja.
Her janaza (funeral prayers) is slated to hold today at the National Mosque in Abuja after noon (zuhr) prayer.
She is survived by two children and six grand children.
