If you are, like me, a Man United fan, then you’ve got to be extremely concerned about the disastrous 8-2 mauling Barca went through yesterday.
When you consider the immense contributions given by Thiago Alcantara (who marshalled the midfield with amazing finesse) and Phillipe Coutinho (who as a sub bagged a brace and even recorded a delicious assist) to the German side’s comprehensive victory yesterday, then you have even more reason to be worried.
Barca saw no future for Thiago (even when the whole world felt he was the natural heir apparent to the legendary Xavi Hernandez) and offloaded him to Bayern, while Coutinho was also shipped out to the same Bayern after he was considered surplus to requirements, following the arrival of injury-prone Ousmane Dembele.
But Karma never changes its name. It is still a BITCH!
Yesterday, the damage inflicted by the duo on their former side will definitely be enough motivation for Inter Milan players Romelu Lukaku (United reject), Alexis Sanchez (United super-flop) and Ashley Young (United golden oldie), when both teams potentially meet in the Europa League Final.
I’m not saying Man United will get beaten black and blue, like Bayern did to Barca. No. I’m just pretty convinced the trio of United’s excess baggage will be surely back with some mission, driven by fury and vengeance.
If we must be beaten, please let it not be, like Barca yesterday, in a Nerrazurric fashion (Italian for black and blue), which, strangely too, are the two official colours of Internazionale.
The Sevilla hurdle is yet to be crossed. But should Man United advance to the Final, then be afraid, Man U fans. Be very afraid of your three excess baggage now donning the black and blue of Milano!
Karma could just be about to visit!
