Nigerian singer Tems made a big statement at this year’s BET Awards, dubbed “culture’s biggest night”.
She won Best Gospel/Inspirational Award, beating Kirk Franklin and Little Mermaid actress Halle Bailey, with her song Me & U.
But she wasn’t in attendance as she was performing at the UK’s Glastonbury festival.
She was also nominated for Video Director of the Year, but didn’t win.
