The annual Bit Pol cultural festival has held in the village of Nyak, Ajikamai Shendam LGA.
The festival, which holds every first January, showcases dances, food, culture and traditions of the Gamai people who reside within the Pol Chiefdom.
Senator Simon Bako Lalong (APC, Plateau South), who hails from the area, hosted friends, political associates and guests at the event
Senator Lalong described the event as a symbol of unity, peace and progress among the people of Pol Chiefdom who are proud to uphold, showcase and share the rich culture and traditions of the Gamai people to the rest of the world.
He said during the festival, Nyak sons and daughters around the world return home to reunite with one another and review their successes and challenges as well as address some of the problems confronting the community.
There was a display of food varieties, coronation of winner of Miss Pol as well as other side attractions with various masquerade dances spicing up the festival.
