Mr Bala Bodinga has assumed duty as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa Command.
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Dutse by the Command’s Spokesman, ASC Badaruddeen Tijjani.
Tijjani said Bodinga replaced Danjuma Muhammad who had been transferred.
Speaking during a brief handover ceremony at the Command Headquarters in Dutse, Bodinga expressed gratitude to the Commandant-General of the Corps, Mr Ahmed Audi, for the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to collaborate with other security agencies, traditional institutions and other stakeholders to safeguard lives and property in the state.
“I am committed to upholding the NSCDC’s core mandates, particularly in the areas of critical infrastructure protection, disaster response, and community-based security.
“Together with my officers and men, we will intensify efforts to maintain peace and order across Jigawa State,” Bodinga said.(NAN)
