President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji as the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).

The outgoing Executive Secretary Waziri Adio officially handed over the NEITI mantle to the incoming Executive Secretary today at the NEITI Secretariat having served out his 5-year non-renewable term.
Dr Orji Ogbonnaya Orji from Abia State is a renowned broadcaster, Journalist, natural resource governance expert, political economist and development Communications specialist.
Orji thanked President Muhammadu Buhari “for the opportunity to make my own contribution to the ongoing reforms in the Nigeria Oil & Gas sector under the NEITI -EITI framework.
“I assure the Global EITI, Development Partners, Companies and the CSO’s that NEITI will be stronger, quicker and more responsive to our National and International obligations. A comprehensive agenda on the way forward will soon be unfolded.”
