A House of Representatives member Yuguda Hassan Kila (APC, Jigawa) has died at the National Hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
Kila, who represented Gwaram Federal Constituency, died at the age of 70. He was chairman of the House Committee on Customs.
In a condolence message, President Muhammadu Buhari commiserated with leadership of the National Assembly, particularly members of the House of Representatives over the passing of Yuguda Hassan Kila.
The president also commiserated with Hon. Hassan Kila’s family, friends, associates, people and government of Jigawa State on the sad incident, urging more trust in God who determines the fate of everyone on earth.
President Buhari prays that Almighty God will accept the soul of the departed, grant him Aljannah firdaus, presidential spokesman Garba Shehu said in a statement.
The late Kila, a retired customs comptroller, was in 2015 elected member of the House of Representatives and was re-elected in 2019.
