Buhari returns to his Kaduna residence after two years in Daura

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his Kaduna residence after spending nearly two years in Daura, Katsina State.

Dateline Nigeria reports that Buhari had been staying in his hometown of Daura since leaving office in May 2023.

A former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad shared pictures of the former president’s return to Kaduna on Thursday.

Ahmad wrote that “After completing his tenure, he opted for a quiet life in his hometown and largely stayed out of active political discussions, focusing on private engagements.

“President Buhari was accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima and high-profile dignitaries, including the Governor of Borno, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum mni, and his counterpart, the Governor of Kaduna, Uba Sani, current and former Deputy Governors of Katsina State, a former Inspector General of Police, former ministers, and several of his personal aides.

“In Kaduna, the former president was met with a warm reception from well-wishers, who were also received by Mallam Mamman Daura, Musa Halilu (Dujiman Adamawa), and Bashir Ahmad, who gathered to welcome him back.”
