Bauchi State Governor, Senator BalaAbdulkadir Muhammed, has received members of the Christian community, under the auspices of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, on a Christmas homage at the Rilwanu Adamu Square Government House.
Speaking while receiving the procession, Governor Bala felicitated them on the occasion of this year’s Christmas.
He enjoined the faithful to use the occasion to promote peace and unity and brotherhood.
The governor described Christmas as a season of joy, happiness, and reflection, urging the faithful to follow the teachings of the holy book exemplified by Jesus Christ.
“We are people of different colours, tribes, faiths, clans, nations, religion and so forth. Let our diversity be a blessing. Let us be our brothers’ keepers, live in peace, embrace one another so that our state and country can move forward,” he remarked.
Governor Bala reechoed his called on the Federal Government to change their economic policies because they are not working but are putting Nigerians in to harship.
He said government must listen to the voice of the majority on Nigerians not to invite anarchy in to the Country.Governor said we are not in a military rule we are in a democracy and the Federal Government must listen to the voice of Bauchi electorates that voted President Tinubu in to power.
He said we will continue to be patience and loyal and appeal to the Federal Government.
On the Creation of Sayawa Chiefdom Governor Bala said they are still consulting and persuading all stakeholders in order to do it peacefully.
Earlier, the CAN Chairman, Reverend Abraham Damina, said they were at the Government House to share the joy of the season with the governor as part of this year’s Christmas celebrations.
He thanked the governor for his support to the christians community. The CAN Chairman also called for peace, unity, and progress for the state and the nation. Special prayers were offered for the peace, unity and prosperity of Bauchi State and Nigeria.
The delegation presented the governor with a special Commendation letter and award at the occasion.
