As part of his effort to further boost student accommodation on campus, the Vice- Chancellor Federal University Dutse, Prof.Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed has said that the construction of a 100 bed space female hostel will soon commence at the university.
The VC who stated this in a chat with FUD Newsletter said the construction of the female hostel is part of his overall plan to ensure that at least fifty percent of the students are accommodated on campus.
He said he is starting with the female hostel because of the vulnerability of the female students adding that very soon the university will unveil plans to construct mega student hostel .
Prof. Abdulkarim said accommodating students on campus is part of the provision of conducive atmosphere for learning.
It would be recalled that one of the first thing the VC did on assumption of duty was to inspect students hostels where he ordered for the renovation of the hostels and construction of new laundry and kitchen for the students and expansion of existing ones.
