Buruji Kashamu, a Senator in the 8th National Assembly, has died of COVID-19 complications, his former colleague Senator Ben Murray Bruce announced on his twitter handle on Saturday.
Kashamu died at the age of 62 at the First Cardiology Consultants in Lagos, the Murray Bruce added.
Senator Kashamu represented Ogun East which covers eleven local government areas: Ijebu North East, Ijebu North, Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu East, Ikenne, Ipokia, Odogbolu, Obafemi Owode, Remo North, Sagamu, and Ogun Waterside.
He spent most of the last part of his life fighting attempts to get him extradited to the United States of America over drug related charges.
