The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi has congratulated members of Team Nigeria who represented the country at the Commonwealth Games (CWG), Birmingham 2022.
Nigeria won 12 gold, nine silver and 14 bronze medals at the quadrennial international multi-sport event among athletes from the Commonwealth of Nation which ends today.
Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, said this on his verified twitter handle on Monday.
“I salute and celebrate all of our respected country men and women, who represented our dear country in different sporting events at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this year.
“I congratulate most especially, those who through their sacrifices and years of intense practice, brought honour and prestige to our nation by winning different medals – gold, silver and bronze.
“You all have written your names in our hearts, and Nigerians appreciate your great efforts. Congratulations to you all,” he said.
