The Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation has threathened to.institute legal action against the injustices it accused former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, of inflicting against its institution, schools, pupils, students, and revered leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
This is contained in a statement distributed to reporters today by Sayyadi Aliyu Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, the foundation’s Director General, Education and School Services.
“Under the watch of El-Rufai, while obeying his directives and instructions, security forces carried out violent night raids on our Tsangaya schools. They stormed the house of respected scholar Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, school dormitories, brutalized students and staff, and forcibly evacuated Qur’anic pupils from their hostels under false pretenses.
“Some of these children remain unaccounted for to this day. Even members of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s family were physically attacked in their home, a direct act of intimidation against one of Nigeria’s most respected Islamic scholars,” the statement said.
Sayyadi said “These were not isolated incidents but part of a deliberate attempt to humiliate Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi and undermine his lifelong work in education and peacebuilding. Despite these provocations, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi chose peace over retaliation, preventing a crisis that could have destabilized the nation”.
He said if by the end of Ramadan Fasting Elrufa’i failed to offer public apology, we will go to the next step to report him to Nigerian government, human right organisations and the court of law for necessary action.
“If they failed to do justice to us, we have no option but to take him before the Almighty Allah who will do justice to all,” it added
The Director General explained that “patience does not mean impunity. El-Rufai must take responsibility for his actions. We, therefore, reaffirm our ultimatum that Nasir El-Rufai has until the end of this year’s Ramadan to issue a public apology for his crimes against our foundation, our students, and our leader.
“Should he fail to do so, we will take legal action to ensure that he is held accountable for his abuses of power, but first we will take him before Nigerian leaders and demand apology over violating our fundamental human right through threat, intimidation, humiliation and evacuation of Qur’anic pupils to unknown destination without justification.”
He cautioned any political party that opened their doors to El-Rufai, saying “even though political platforms are open to all, but those who claim to stand for justice must not ignore the history of individuals they welcome. El-Rufai is not a victim—he is an oppressor. Any group or party that aligns with him must be fully aware of the damage he has inflicted on innocent lives”.
Sayyadi said “The Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation will not allow these injustices to be forgotten. We stand firm in our commitment to seeking justice, protecting religious institutions, and ensuring that no leader ever uses state power to oppress peaceful scholars and students again”.
