Dangote Refinery reports ‘minor fire’ at treatment plant

There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty

Dangote Refinery, on Wednesday, reported what it described as minor fire incident as it effluent treatment plant in beju-Lekki, Lagos State.

A terse statement by the Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, Anthony Chiejina, said “there is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no
recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty.”

Dateline Nigeria reports that a video of a section of the refinery on fire was earlier shared widely on social media.

“We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.

“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty,” the statement said, without stating the cause of the fire.
