The wedding fatiha of Khalid Ibrahim Mairiga and Maryam Aliyu Modibbo Umar, daughter of former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) took place today in Abuja.
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, attended the wedding ceremony which took place at the National Mosque Abuja.
Sheikh Ibrahim Maqari presided over the wedding along with that of Abubakar Saidu Nafada and Amina Ibrahim Mairiga (Umaimah).
Governor Inuwa stood in as Wakil for Khalid and, on his behalf, received the bride, Maryam. A dowry of N500,000 naira was announced, symbolizing the start of this new chapter in their lives.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also played the role of guardian (Waliy) for Amina (Umaimah) Mairiga, giving her hands in matrimony to Abubakar Saidu through his Wakil, creating a bond of love and commitment that will undoubtedly flourish.
Sheikh Ibrahim Maqari, during the solemnization of the unions, invoked Allah’s blessings upon the couples and their families.
The presence of ‘who is who’ in Gombe and other high-profile dignitaries at this event added to its grandeur.
Notable among the dignitaries were the Hon. Minister of Transport, Sen. Saidu Ahmed Alkali, Minister of Agriculture, Abubakar Kyari and Minister of State Agriculture, Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi among other distinguished guests.
Former Governors of Gombe Danjuma Goje and Kano Rabiu Kwankwaso, federal and state lawmakers, prominent politicians, members of the business community, as well as friends, associates, and family members came together to witness this auspicious occasion.
The event culminated with special prayers for Allah’s blessings upon the newlyweds and their respective families, marking the start of a journey filled with love, unity, and prosperity.
