Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said that leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are in a better position to comment on defection of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode to the party.
El-Rufai spoke while answering questions during a visit to the APC secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Senator Uba Sani and others to meet top officials of the party over issues related to the building, consolidation and sustenance of the party structures in Kaduna State.

“I don’t comment on the decisions and actions of the leaders of the party. They have the job of running the party and they have to make the judgment on who to bring into the party.
“And you know politics is a game of addition. So you want to add and add. And they have taken that decision. But I don’t comment on that because they are the ones running the party.
“If I bring someone to Kaduna and you asked the Kaduna State Government to explain, I will explain. I don’t know how to run the party.
“I was deputy national Secretary for a short while and it was the only experience I had in party management. So I won’t comment on that.”
Also commenting on the visit, Sen Uba Sani, who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial District, said the El-Rufai delegation was warmly welcomed by the Secretary, APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Senator Akpan Udoedehe.
Sani said Governor El-Rufai reiterated his belief in the supremacy of the party and its critical role and importance in the building of a progressive society and consolidation of democracy.
He told the APC officials that as APC leader in Kaduna State he will continue to ensure inclusivity, fairness and equity in the running of the party. Party members will always be carried along in the decision making process. Collective leadership is key to party progress and consolidation.
Senator Akpan Udoedehe assured Governor El-Rufai and his delegation of the support of the APC Caretaker Committee in his efforts to reposition Kaduna State APC as a veritable electoral machine.
He also said the Committee will take a critical look at the issues tabled by the delegation and deal with them expeditiously.
