Enugu’s Uche Muhammad shines in National Qur’anic Recitation Competition

Enugu State’s Dalil Uche Muhammad has dazzled the audience with his performance at the 38th National Qur’anic Recitation Competition where he emerged winner of the fifth category (Male).

In the fifth category, which had to do with memorisation of 10 Hizbs of the Glorious Qur’an, Uche scored 92.1 per cent to win the first position at the competion which held in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

Jigawa State’s Tahir Muhammad Lawan came second in the category with 89.3 per cent, while Katsina State’s Ibrahim Haruna came third with 87.5 percent.

Dateline Nigeria reports that Ibrahim Muhammad Nasir of Bauchi State and Zainab Aliyu Mohammad of Kano State emerged the overall winners of the competition where they competed in memorisation of the full Qur’an with commentary in the male and female categories, respectively.

Prof. Abubakar Yalwa, Director, Centre for Islamic Studies, Usman Danfodio University (UDU), announced the result at the end of the one-week competition.
