
Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Ambassador Sadiq Baba Abubakar has won the All Progressives Congress APC governorship primary election.
He scored 370 votes to defeat Senator Halliru Dauda Jika (APC, Bauchi Central) who got 278, followed by the youngest among the aspirants Nura Manu Soro who scored 269.
Dr Musa Babayo had 70 votes, Farouk Mustafa 26, a one-time Bauchi SSG Mahmood Maijamaa got eight while former Minister of Health Dr Ali Pate got zero vote.

Sadiq joined the governorship race for 2023 under the flagship of the APC along with other contestants.
The chairman of the election committee Ali Sa’ad Birnin Kudu, a former Governor of Jigawa State, declared the former Chief of Air Staff as winner of the APC Governorship primary election.
In his acceptance speech, Sadiq thanked the delegates who elected him and described his success as the success of the party.
