A former Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Mohammed Sani Sidi has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna.
Sani Sidi, a former governorship candidate of the PDP in Kaduna State was received along with thousands of his followers by Governor Uba Sani and Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen.
Many top federal and state government officials, party stalwarts, and stakeholders were at the grand reception held at the Trade Fair Complex, Kaduna on Wednesday.
“We shall continue to deliver on our mandate, strengthen our party, and sustain the prevailing atmosphere of peace in our dear state,” Uba Sani said.
Commenting, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen said “This is not just a defection; it’s a powerful statement that the APC remains the party of the people – a party of peace, development, and genuine progress.”
He added that “Alongside Governor Uba Sani, we’ve had months of conversations with Sani Sidi, encouraging him to leave the sinking ship and join hands with a leadership that’s committed to rebuilding Nigeria. Today, he made that bold and patriotic choice.
“The APC under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is working tirelessly to fix our country. And with leaders like Sani Sidi joining the fold, our vision for a renewed, united, and prosperous Nigeria is even closer to reality.
“To all defectors, welcome home. This is your party now – a place of belonging, purpose, and impact. Let’s keep working together for the betterment of our people.”
