Famous Islamic scholar and National Organising Secretary of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu, has passed on.
The death was confirmed by the National Chairman of JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau in a terse statement on Wednesday.
He said Sheikh Argungu died on Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State after a protracted illness. Sources said he conducted Tafsir (exegesis of the Qur’an) on Tuesday night.
Funeral prayers (janaza) will hold on Thursday, sources confirmed to Dateline Nigeria.
Sheikh Giro Argungu participated in this year’s Hajj exercise where he devoted his time to preaching to pilgrims.
Sheikh Abubakar Giro was born in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
