The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO) popularly known as INTERPOL.
The Executive Chairman of the FIRS, Muhammad Nami, and the Vice President (Africa) of INTERPOL, Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Garba Baba Umar, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations on Wednesday.
FIRS said “This MOU marks an important milestone for the two institutions. The FIRS is thankful for the support it receives from critical stakeholders like the INTERPOL.
“When fully implemented this partnership would open new sources of revenue to the government of Nigeria and also help to plug leakages.”
