Federal University Dutse (FUD) has matriculated 4,290 students who have been admitted into the University in the current 2021/2022 academic session.
This was made known by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed during the 10 Matriculation Ceremony held at the University’s Convocation Square.

The VC urged the new students to abide by the University’s rules and regulations throughout their stay in the University. He noted that the University would not tolerate any act of indiscipline by students.
He advised them to imbibe the reading culture and adhere to the University’s code of ethics as contained in the students handbook.
He said FUD is now one of the preferred universities in Nigeria. “The University being the popular choice among applicants seeking admission into universities in Nigeria, we received applications from 20, 153 candidates in 2020 out of which we admitted 4,290 students only representing 20% only. This shows how competitive admissions are. So, you should consider yourself very lucky and face your studies Squarely”
The VC said the university is focusing on entrepreneurship. “Let me inform the parents that are here today that we are trying to revitalize our entrepreneurship program.
“Our objective is for our students to acquire more skills and training that would make them the self-reliant and employers of labor instead of waiting for government employment. I urge the students to take their entrepreneurship training seriously.”
VC harps on environmental sanitation, warns against exam malpractice
The Vice-Chancellor Federal University Dutse, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed has called on the newly admitted students to take care of their personal hygiene and keep the university
clean.
The VC who made the appeal at the flag off of the 2021 orientation program said universities are supposed to be clean and conducive for learning adding that the way and manner students litter the university gives him a lot of concern.
He said dustbins have been provided at lecture halls, school areas and the hostel but students are fond of throwing things around making the environment dirty and unkempt, adding that our religious beliefs promote hygiene and cleanliness and so there is no reason for the students not to observe the rules of hygiene at all times.
The VC also told the students to avoid examination malpractices at all cost because anyone could lose their admission, adding that student should teach and assist themselves before the examination and not inside the exam hall.
He advised them to avoid negative use of the social media, adding that il well uscd, the social media could help the students to learn and excel in their various fields of study.
Prof. Abdulkarim advised the students to manage their new found freedom well because freedom comes with responsibility, adding that girls are vulnerable at this stage of their lives and as such they should resist peer pressure and negative influences in order to succeed in their studies.
The VC advised the students to take advantage ot their mentor-mentee system because it is meant to provide them with shock absorbers to cope with challenges that comes with staying away from parents and guardians.
