FUGA lecturer killed in Jos

A lecturer with the Federal University Gashua (FUGA) Yobe State Sani Mazadu has been killed in Jos, Plateau State.

Dateline Nigeria learnt that Mazadu was allegedly gunned down by his assailants Monday night at Yankwaba, Anguwar Rogo area of Jos.

His brother Yusha’u Mazadu, of the Plateau State House of Assembly, posted on his Facebook page.

“We lost our brother Sani Mazadu this night. May Almighty Allah forgive him and make Jannah his final abode. Janaza in the morning at our family House, Yankwaba Ang/Rogo Jos,” he said, without giving details of the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Plateau State Police Command is not immediately available for comment.

Meanwhile, friends, acquaintances and collleagues have taken to the social media to mourn the slain lecturer.

Bashir Ibrahim Idris said “Our heart bleeds and our eyes couldn’t hold back our tears, when gunmen cut short the life of Sani Mazadu, a neigbour and lecturer at Federal University Gashua yesterday. A complete gentleman has gone. May Allah forgive your shortcomings!”

Yusuf Mohammad Shekara said, “Subhanallah. The killing of Mr. Sani Mazadu was devastating and must be condemned. He was a lecturer at the Department of Psychology Faculty of Management and Social Science (FMSS) Federal University Gashu’a Yobe State.
May his soul rest in peace.”

Haiwa Saleh Hassan wrote “It is a personal one for me, i am aggrieved by such a painful loss, a gentleman, a kind hearted soul, your murderers will never find peace, may your sweet soul rest in peace my brother my friend a friend from childhood is a friend for life. May Allah repose your soul and grant you jannah sani Sani Mazadu”

Abdallah Isezuo Sanni posted “May Allaah grant you Jannah, save you from the trials of the grave and the punishment of Jahannam. May Allaah grant your family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss, aameen.”

Abdul-Majid Lawan Waziri posted, “I received with rude shock the death of brothers Sani Mazadu and Safyan Saeed last night in Jos. May Almighty Allah forgive them. Whoever is responsible for the criminal act that led to their killings must be brought to book. This is unacceptable!”
