The Sarkin Yarbawan Funtua in Katsina State, Dr Murtala Sani Adeleke, has officially announced the immediate dismissal of a high-ranking title holder following allegations of involvement in child trafficking.
In a statement released on February 21, 2026, Dr. Adeleke also disowned the Chief Amuludun, popularly known as Christina Olajubu Mama Ogo Oluwa, and distanced the Yoruba traditional institution from the criminal activities.
The statement, signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Funtua Yoruba Emirate Council, Annur Jadee Ikon Allah, warned members of the emirate against involvement in criminal activities.
Titled “Important Announcement from the Palace of the Sarkin Yarbawan Funtua” the full statement reads below:
On behalf of Sarkin Yarbawan Funtua Dr. Murtala Sani Adeleke,
This is to inform the people of Funtua that one of the members of the palace has been involved in child trafficking (human trafficking). For this reason, the public is hereby informed that this act was carried out without the knowledge of the Yoruba Kingdom, and the King strongly condemns this incident. He has also taken firm measures to prevent any recurrence of such an act in the future.
As a result of the disgraceful conduct of one of the palace members, namely Chief Amuludun (popularly known as Christina Olajubu Mama Ogo Oluwa), who was involved in child trafficking, the Council of the Sarkin Yarbawan Funtua has resolved to remove her from her position as Chief Amuludun of Yoruba, effective from today, 21st February, 2026.
Finally, the King has issued a strong warning to all members of the palace and anyone associated with the kingdom against engaging in immoral and criminal acts of this nature.
He further assures the public that severe punishment will be meted out to anyone found guilty of such acts, as they bring disgrace to the kingdom and damage the dignity and reputation of the Yoruba community in Funtua as a whole.
Best wishes to the entire people of Funtua.
Signed:
Sarkin Yarbawan Funtua
Through:
Annur Jadee Ikon Allah
