Gbajabiamila thanks Surulere 1 constituents for electing Laguda

The Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has thanked the people of Surulere 1 Federal Constituency for electing Hon. Fuad Kayode Laguda as his replacementin the House of Representatives.

Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker, resigned from the House of Representatives after his appointment as Chief of Staff by President Tinubu.

In a statement on Sunday, Gbajabiamila said “I am confident our constituency will continue to enjoy quality representation in the National Assembly under Hon. Fuad Kayode Laguda.”

Gbajabiamila’s statement reads: “I thank the people of Surulere 1 federal constituency for voting overwhelmingly for APC in Saturday’s bye-election. Your support for APC is a clear testament to the quality legislative representation and numerous intervention projects Surulere has enjoyed.

“I am confident our constituency will continue to enjoy quality representation in the National Assembly under Hon. Fuad Kayode Laguda.

“Our Surulere community will continue to enjoy the full complement of my new office. As I am sure of a better Nigeria under the leadership of my boss, President Bola Tinubu. I see firsthand, the energy Mr. President commits daily to fixing the current economic hardship.

“My special appreciation to H.E., President Bola Tinubu, GCFR; Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Rt.Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D; our own performing Governor, H.E, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu; the National, State and Local leadership of our party under Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi and Hon. Sheriff Balogun respectively; Lagos State GAC Leaders, our joint state and local election planning committee, our party members, community leaders and entire residents of Surulere.

“We thank the election umpire, INEC and all their permanent and Adhoc staff, security agencies and the media for ensuring a free, fair and transparent bye-election.

“Congratulations once more to my worthy successor, Fuad Kayode Laguda and the people of Surulere, Lagos.”
