Gov Bala, hundreds of mourners attend Bauchi LG commissioner’s funeral

Governor Bala Muhammad of Bauchi State led hundreds of Muslim faithful to the funeral prayer of late Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Ahmad Aliyu Jalam (Me Kankana), who was killed in a road accident on Saturday.

The funeral prayer held at the commissioner’s hometown of Jalam, Dambam Local Government area. Others in attendance included the Deputy Governor Auwal Jatau, Secretary to State Government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, members of State Executive Council and other government functionaries.

Aged 60, late Ahmad Aliyu Jalam died on Saturday in an auto accident along Misau-Darazo highway. He is survived by four wives and many children.

Governor Bala Mohammed, on behalf of his family, government and the people of Bauchi State, extended his deepest condolences to the members of his immediate family and the entire people of the state.

He prayed  that the Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanna Firdaus. Special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased, who has since been buried at Jalam Muslim Cemetery according to Islamic rites.

The late Jalam was a dedicated public servant, whose commitment to the development and well-being of his local communities was unwavering.
