Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni is poised to support mobile phone business persons in Yobe State.
The state Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation Abdullahi Bego disclosed this when he hosted the executives of the Yobe State chapter of the Association of Mobile Phones and Allied Products Traders of Nigeria (AMPAT)
The association is seeking more ways to expand GSM phone-related businesses and services across the state and attract more youths into its ranks.
“The visit by AMPAT’s leadership followed a courtesy visit they earlier paid to His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni to appreciate him for his passion and determination to support micro, small and medium businesses in the state.
“I was impressed to hear from AMPAT chairman, Mohammed Kachallah that the association has more than 10,000 members across the 17 local government areas of the state and that more youths are turning up to join GSM Phone-related businesses.
“I assured the association that in keeping with His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni’s commitment to providing material and training support to AMPAT members, our ministry will work closely with them and with the Yobe Information Technology Development Agency (YITDA) to provide tools, and kits, and training so that more AMPAT members have the knowledge and skills they need to become more nimble and more professional in their chosen businesses.
“The Yobe State Government’s support to AMPAT syncs closely with the determination of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni to provide up to 13,000 people with various empowerment support in the weeks and months ahead,” Bego said.
