Governor Radda chairs Katsina APC caucus meeting

The meeting was attended by former Governors Aminu Bello Masari and Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, along with other APC stakeholders, including Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has presided over a caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The meeting, held at the Presidential Banquet Hall of the Government House Katsina, was attended by former Governors Aminu Bello Masari and Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, along with other APC stakeholders in the State.

The APC caucus meeting also had in attendance, Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, former Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika, former and serving members of the State and National Assembly, such as Senator Abu Ibrahim, Muntari Dan Dutse, Abdul-aziz Musa Yar’adua, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly Nasir Yahaya Daura and a former Deputy Governor of the state Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi.

Speaking at the occasion, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda briefed the gathering on the dissolution and reconstitution of the APC Caucus at both state and local government levels.

Governor Radda also announced the formation of four committees to conduct primaries for the upcoming local government elections under the Party’s auspices.

These committees include reconciliation, screening, election, and appeal committees. The process will begin with the sale of candidate nomination forms on May 9th and conclude with the submission of candidate names on May 20th, 2024.

Malam Dikko Umaru Radda described the meeting as the first of its kind during his administration, convened to fulfill the provisions of the APC constitution.

He emphasized that the Caucus was constituted to ensure the Party’s success in the forthcoming local government election, adhering to the Party’s constitutional provisions and making proper arrangements.

The Katsina Governor urged the State and local government Caucuses to collaborate closely with the Party, ensuring fairness and integrity in candidate selection to secure electoral victory.

Acknowledging the unwavering commitment of former Governors Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari and Barrister Ibrahim Shema to fostering party unity, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda assured the State that he would present a one-year anniversary report showcasing the achievements of his administration.

He further appealed to political office holders to build public confidence in the APC leadership within the State by avoiding selfish interests and working collaboratively for the collective good.

In their separate remarks, former Governors Aminu Bello Masari and Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema expressed appreciation for the peaceful coexistence among party members and appealed for further unity and cooperation to achieve success in the upcoming local government elections.

They reaffirmed their continued support and cooperation with the APC-led administration for the development of the Party and the entire State.

Former Senators Hadi Sirika and Abu Ibrahim challenged the APC Caucus in the State to lay a strong foundation for the Party’s victory in the 2027 general elections.

They appealed to party supporters to remain united and supportive of government policies and programs for further development.

APC State Chairman Sani Aliyu Daura and his Deputy Bala Abu Musawa stated that the meeting aimed to brainstorm and discuss strategies for maintaining the APC’s victory at all levels.

They warmly welcomed Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema back into the party and pledged to work hand-in-hand with him to propel the Party forward.
