Former Governor of Gombe State, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, has married the MD of Binani Printing Press Amina Dahiru Chiroma in Abuja.
Amina is the younger sister of Goje’s colleague in the upper legislative chamber Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Adamawa Central). Goje represents Gombe Central.
The wedding fatiha which took place on Friday at Alhaji Ahmed Modibbo’s residence in Asokoro Abuja, was preceded by cultural events, including Fulani day.
Former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido stood in as Wakili for Goje and received the marriage on his behalf while Alhaji Ahmed Modibbo gave out the bride on behalf of the Dahiru Chiroma family after the announcement of 250, 000 Naira dowry in line with Islamic injunctions.
Those at the wedding included Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya and his Deputy Manassah Daniel Jatau.
Former Governors at the event included Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto and Murtala Nyako of Adamawa. Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, officiated the wedding.
Many serving members and former members of the National Assembly also attended the ceremony which drew attendees from different political and religious leanings.
Goje is already married with children while Amina is also going into her second marriage.
