Coalition of Nigeria Concern Citizens, a pro-democracy group, has dismissed alleged perceived stagnation of development in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under the leadership of Malam Muhammad Bello.
Leader of the group, Alhaji Hassan Sardauna, at a news conference on Thursday in Abuja, commended Bello for the ongoing massive infrastructural development across the territory.

Sardauna said currently there were about four to five massive interchanges and bridges that are currently under construction and towards completion as soon as possible.
According to him, one of the ongoing project is a bridge that connect Wuse District and Wuye District on Olusegun Obasanjo Way.
He explained that the bridge at Power House Junction which was connecting one section of Asokoro to the other section of Asokoro, a massive project to relief traffic gridlock along AYA axis to central area and area
Similarly, Sardauna said that the Outer Southern Expressway along Apo to Gudu cemetery had been constructed into services, adding that the expressway was meant to be the way Umar Yar’Adua Adua Expressway.
He said that the work was on-going on the first set of 15 km from the Apo Intersection, adding that upon full completion, would burst out in Gwagwalada.
”The media has been awash recently about perceived stagnation of development in the FCT in recent times.
”Many have alleged that the satellite towns have been neglected in the provision of needed infrastructure, heightened security challenges, poor waste management and so on.
”These assertions, as far as we are concerned, is far from the truth. We believe that most of us here are original inhabitants and residents of the territory and are living witnesses to the massive development projects on-going within FCT.”
Sardauna said that the FCT Administration had not left out the Satellite towns in its development drive.
He commended the administration for the construction of the 14 km Mpape-Shere Galuwyi Road to ensure a successful resettlement of original inhabitants in about 16 communities.
Sardauna, therefore, advised residents to support the FCT Administration and the security agencies to make their work easier by providing timely and credible information to make security challenges a thing of the past in Abuja.
”Like every other state of the Federation, the FCT is not immune to security challenges. But we are proud to say that the FCT Administration is doing all that is humanly possible to address the challenges.
”It is our firm belief that the FCT Administration will continue to collaborate with the security agencies to increased security surveillance across the territory to ensure continuous safety of the residents.” (NAN)
