Unknown gunmen have attacked the residence of the Chairman of Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa and abducted his two wives.
The chairman Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa told the BBC that the gunmen stormed his residence after Isha prayer on Friday. They chased away the people they met in front of the residence before breaking in.
“They fired two shots before entering the house,” he said, adding that they kidnapped his two wives who are still in their captivity.”
The spokesperson of the Jigawa State Police Command DSP Lawan Adam Shiisu confirmed the development to BBC, adding that the force received an emergency call and wasted no time in mobilising to the scene. But the gunmen had left by the time they arrived.
He said the police command will leave no stone unturned to rescue the victims.
