Reports from Plateau State say 135 people have been killed in attacks by gunmen on some villages of Kanam Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen attacked at least four villages on motorcycles, shooting indiscriminately, setting houses ablaze and rustling cattle, according to a report by BBC Hausa.

The authorities did not provide details of the attacks.
But a traditional ruler in the area told the BBC that already 54 bodies have been recovered from Kukawa village and another 34 corpses from Gyambau village.
He added that another 30 people were killed in two other villages. Also, 16 members of the vigilante were killed in Shuwaka village.
Those killed included women and children as well as youths. Many people have also not been accounted for since the attacks that forced hundreds to flee their homes.
Residents said it took over 24 hours before the security agents responded. They described the attacks as the most vicious yet in the area.
The authorities said more security agents have been deployed to the area.
