The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said that Hamza Musa Mai Bulawus is not on the commission’s wanted list.
The anti-graft agency dismissed a viral social media publication asserting that Mai Bulawus had been declared a wanted person.
According to a public disclaimer issued by the anti-graft agency, the fraudulent “wanted” announcement was generated and circulated online by an individual identified as Abdullahi Saidu Shugaba.
Shugaba reportedly published the false claims on his personal Facebook account, which operates under the name Zamfara State Media Forum.
In an official statement signed on Wednesday by EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the agency clarified its position regarding the targeted individual.
“The Commission has no case with Mai Bulawus and he is not on its WANTED List,” Oyewale said, adding that “Any publication to the contrary is fictitious and contrived.”
The EFCC enjoined the general public to ignore and disregard the post.
