The Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF) has congratulated Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma on his resounding victory and reelection for another term of four years.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on Sunday the 12th of November declared Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent governor as the duly elected and winner of the November 11th Governorship election in Imo State.
Uzodinma polled 540,308 votes to beat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 71,503 votes.
In a press release signed and widely distributed to journalists in Kaduna by Abdulsalam Moh’d Kazeem, the National President of UNYF, the youth group described Uzodinma’s victory as a big win for democracy and good governance not just in Imo State where the Governor-elect has come to personify excellent leadership but to the APC and Nigeria at large.
According to the statement, “Hope Uzodinma’s victory and reelection as the Executive Governor of Imo State has reaffirmed our position, and that of the good people of Imo State that he is indeed a great leader with a vision who has been divinely sent and inspired to deliver Imo State from backwardness and corruption into a haven of investments and progress. As progressive youths, we are proud to identify ourselves with this collosus”
While extolling the leadership traits and monumental landmarks of the Uzodinma’s administration in Imo State in the past four years, UNYF expressed confidence in his ability to even do more to place Imo State in a strategically competitive position that will rival even Lagos and Kano in terms of revenue and service delivery.
“One of the big achievements of Hope Uzodinma in the past four years in office was his determined crackdown on insecurity and criminality in Imo State. That boosted investors confidence in addition to massive infrastructural development and and friendly laws that have come to guarantee safety and good returns on investments. Imo remained the only State where the inhumane Monday sit-at-home policy of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was not operational. This is indeed what has earned him the people’s confidence and we are proud to identify and partner with him as he continues to deliver world class governance to Imo people.
“As one of the few APC governors in the South Eastern Nigeria, Hope Uzodinma has continued to use his position and connections with the Federal Government to foster peace and development in Imo State and a region that was once known for insecurity and all forms of criminality. His fierce stance against bullying from political rivals and enemies of the people has endeared Nigerians to him and we urge him to do more to put an end to thuggery, the antics of godfathers and corruption in Imo State and Nigeria at large”, the group added.
The group finally appealed to the other contestants, Imolites and Nigerians at large to massively support Governor Hope Uzodinma to deliver his next four years with resounding success such that Nigerians will have no choice but endorse and support him to be the next President of Nigeria after the tenure of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Governor Hope Uzodinma is a big project and Nigerians from all walks of life are excited with his track record so far. He has what it takes to be Nigerians next President and the first President from South East Nigeria. We must therefore queue solidly behind him and shame the opposition and enemies of our democracy. This is also a call to other contestants to accept and support his victory instead of resorting to needless court cases”, the statement concluded.
