
Three Nigerians – Ambemo Jela Victor, 37, Chime Ndubunsi Moses, 36, and Karikari Ames, 33 – have been arrested in India for drug trafficking.
The Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru City Police arrested the three Nigerians and other suspect in two cases of drug peddling in the city.
It said 10.27 kg of MDMA (also known as ecstasy) crystals were found in their possession.
“The accused had come to India on medical and tourist visas. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused procured drugs from another Nigerian national based in Delhi,” The New Indian Express reported.
In another operation, the police arrested Mohammed Marel Fecoge (25), a native of Kerala and a private firm employee in the Banaswadi police station limits for allegedly possessing and selling hydroponic ganja.
They seized 2.044 kg of hydroponic ganja from him. He came to the city four months ago and allegedly procured drugs from a person in Kerala, who in turn sourced the drugs from Thailand.
Meanwhile, the city police have arrested 13 drug peddlers in separate cases and seized narcotic substances from them.
