A senior female journalist and an Assistant Director of Digital Media at the Voice of Nigeria (VON) Rafat Idris Salami has passed on.
She died in the early hours of Friday and her janaza (funeral prayer) is expected to take place at the National Mosque after Jumaat prayer in Abuja, according to colleagues and professional associates.
Dateline Nigeria reports that Rafat Salami, a former Secretary of the Nigerian Union Journalists (NUJ), Abuja chaptet, was recently elected as the Treasurer of the International Press Institute (IPI) Nigeria.
Madam Rafat Salami left behind a special needs son Ahmed, who has a popular following (#TeamAhmed) on social media.
