Jigawa State Government said it is determined to ensure that all key socio economic development projects and programs are fully funded and completed by beginning of 2023 fiscal year.
Briefing newsmen after the executive council meeting on Tuesday, the State Commissioner of Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Bala Ibirahim, said this is so as not to bequeath unnecessary contractual commitments and liabilities to the next government.
Ibirahim said the council noted, with satisfaction that, preliminary assessment of implementation of 2021 budget as at the end of the month of June has indicated a very satisfactory performance with optimistic scenario of greater performance.
The council has also noted and considered that based on a review of revenue flows during the first half of the year and other fiscal information, it has been projected that more income would accrue into the state consolidated revenue fund than earlier projected.
The State Executive Council therefore considered and approved a proposal of supplementary budget for onward submission to the state House of Assembly for further legislative action.
Also approved by the council is the award of contract for the reconstruction of the damaged section of Darai- Gilima road at the cost of N291m.
