The Governing Council of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU Bauchi, has approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Prochancellor of the varsity and Chairman Governing Council retired Air Commodore Emmanuel K Jekada made the announcement early morning today Thursday at the end of the council meeting in Bauchi.
He said the process started since last February with advertisement of the position and after a thorough screening and interview Professor Ibrahim.Hassan Garba emerged first, beating two other contestants for the post.
He prayed the new Vice Chancellor will do his best and carry the university to greater heights.
A source in the varsity said more details will emerge and Professor Garba Hassan is expected to receive a handing over and take over the leadership of the varsity later in the day.
