Muhammed Mukaddas, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant, says he will prioritise humane legislation, social investments and infrastructure renewal for Kaduna Zone 1 if elected.
Mukaddas, a former General Manager, Kaduna State Community and Social Development Agency (KADCSDA), made the pledge during a familiarisation visit to the APC headquarters in Kaduna.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the zone, attributing his aspiration to “character, competence and capacity”.
“I thank Almighty Allah for this recognition and the trust reposed in me to seek to represent the resilient people of Kaduna Zone 1 at the Senate.
“Be rest assured that I will surpass expectations when elected,” he said.
Mukaddas described Kaduna Zone 1 as “too important to be left in the care of a visibly incompetent senator”, adding that his agenda would focus on inclusive development.
He said he would work with stakeholders to deliver people oriented laws and projects, including water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), healthcare and education interventions.
The aspirant also pledged to implement social investment programmes to reduce poverty and collaborate with relevant authorities to upgrade dilapidated road infrastructure across the zone.
“We will make laws that are humane and pursue community development projects that strengthen resilience.
“We will also implement social investment programmes and work to fix our road infrastructure,” he said.
Mukaddas commended the APC and the Kaduna State Government for pledging an enabling environment for free, fair and credible primary and general elections.
He also appreciated supporters who attended the visit from across the state.
In a remark, Abubakar Abubakar, APC State Secretary, commended the aspirant for the visit and cautioned party members against defamation and acts capable of creating disunity.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visit followed the release of the party’s timetable for its primaries. (NAN)
