The Management of Kaduna Electric again apologises for the prolonged outage in Kaduna state. We note regrettably that it has been over 24 hours without power supply. We feel your pain and frustration!.
As we pointed out yesterday, the outage was as a result of the initial vandalism of towers along 330KV Shiroro – Kaduna Lines 1 & 2. Added to that is also the tripping on the Ugwuaji-Markurdi 330kV Line 2 yesterday.
A statement from TCN this morning confirming this said although “it has restored supply to the 132kV transmission line from New Haven to Apir, but the 330kV lines remain out of service, impacting power supply in the Northern region of the country.
Sadly, the TCN Shiroro-Mando transmission line is also down due to security reasons, causing power outage in the North”.
We sincerely apologise for the inconveniernce being suffered. We appeal for your patience as we await the restoration of supply from TCN.
