In a landmark move to boost biodiversity conservation, the Kaduna State Government has donated 10,000 seedlings to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
This generous gesture supports the NDA’s newly established Biodiversity Conservation Center (NDA BCC), aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and green practices within the military institution.
The ceremonial handover took place at the Kaduna State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources headquarters, attended by dignitaries including Honourable Abubakar Buba, Kaduna State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, and Major General JO Ochai, Commandant of the NDA.
Other notable attendees included the Permanent Secretary, Directors of the Environment Ministry, Deputy Commandant NDA, Academy Provost, Principal Staff Officers of the NDA, and military personnel.
Honourable Abubakar Buba expressed gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship for future generations.
Major General Ochai reiterated the NDA’s commitment to fostering biodiversity and highlighted the crucial role of collaboration between military and government in achieving environmental goals.
