
The Kano State Police Command is pleased to announce that members of the public gathered at Bompai Police Headquarters on May 6, 2025, to express their gratitude for the successful arrest of a notorious suspect, Ali Dahiru, a 40-year-old male from Jaji, Kaduna State.
The suspect, who posed as a taxi driver, was apprehended for operating a syndicate of theft along the Kura-Kano route.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, using a green Golf 3 vehicle, would pick up passengers and their belongings, claiming mechanical faults or fuel shortages to distract them and make off with their properties.
Fifty complainants have come forward, identifying the suspect as responsible for their losses.
The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, swiftly acted on intelligence and apprehended the suspect, recovering several stolen properties.
The suspect will face charges in court upon completion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police expressed appreciation for the public’s support and assured continued efforts to maintain law and order, protect lives and property, and bring perpetrators to justice.
